Cranking motor

I will be putting cylinder head back together soon. Did lots of reading and am using the "shbox" web site to help. I feel pretty good about everything accept turning the motor over manually to set valve lash. I have no idea where to actually put a wrench or socket in order to crank motor. I think im going to just put a dial indicator on rocker and tighten the rocker when the dial goes back .001". Seems safe to me.

Re: Cranking motor

Use the crank hub bolt. If spark plugs are removed, there won't be any compression to fight. If plugs are in, just turn the bolt slowly and allow compression to bleed off as you go.

Re: Cranking motor

Yes, rotation is clockwise as you look at the front of the engine.
