This problem drove me nuts. I couldnt figure out why my resovour and radiator was dumping all the coolant after putting in a new oem thermostat. Switched the hoses and issue resolved. Thankyou

I have the same problem it my lines are right new water pump doesn’t overheat but pushes water to the resavor new radiator cap 18 lbs and new therm

Did you use the correct LT1 t'stat?

When you open the radiator cap, is the coolant all the way to the very top of the fill neck, no air space? Possibly a cracked overflow hose, or a hole in the metal tube it connects to, on the reservoir, under the battery? That prevents the vacuum from pulling the coolant back out of the reservoir as the system cools down, to keep the radiator filled to the top.
Did you thoroughly bleed all the air out of the system?
