camaro or firebird

Re: camaro or firebird
The differences are basicly cosmetic, weight all depends upon your options, but generally the trans ams are heavier.
Its almost like asking what a persons favorite color is. you'll get a million answers and they are all right.

They are right, gm used and still uses this marketing strategy. They make two very similar cars and sell them under different sub brands to target different audiences. They are basically the same car with different body panels and different interior trim. Get whichever one you can get a better deal on.

Re: camaro or firebird
My 1995 Firebird formula was weighed at the DMV inspection lane. It weighed 3,420lbs with me in it. I weigh 140 so that brings it down to 3,280. There isnt any major weight reduction done. I dont have the spare tire, but thats about the only thing of any real weight. Missing the rear plastic pannels too but they are like 2lbs. I think most v6 camaros weigh more then my Formula. Also an automatic transmission is also lighter than a manual with our cars. My dad owns 2 4th gen camaroes and the Firebird's interior is much nicer IMO.

Re: camaro or firebird
Had a '98 firebird and a '94 T/A, interiors are SO much better on both of the birds in comparison to my Z and my friends '95 Z. MY camaro has rattles like crazy, neither of the birds developed rattles like this and the A/C vent setup in the firebirds is much better ('97+ camaro got a better setup which isn't so bad). Center console in the birsds also feels more sturdy and i like the way the seat feels better in them.
