cam suggestions

I am in the progress of ordering parts for my camaro and am doing a full rebuild and Want to do a new cam I want something that sounds good but doesnt take the power and really high I am not trying to break any speed records just want a little more spiffyness and a good sound would prefer something that would run on a stock tune cause no one around here tunes this type of car

Re: cam suggestions

Installing any meaningful cam is going to take a "tune". For most popular cams you can have your PCM tuned via a reputable mail-order tuner. A tune on a totally stock LT1 can net you 10-15HP.

As part of your rebuild, do you plan to have the heads ported? Do you plan to keep the stock stroke?

Re: cam suggestions

Far as the rebuild goes I think Imma do the block back stock possibly if money allows a forged bottom end and the heads I'm considering a small port job but nothing extreme I do plan on 1.6 rr a upgraded set of springs (open to suggestions on those) and better push rods and anything else that would help longevity of the top end
