I just got my 383 stroker, I have a bbk tb and cold air ready for installation. But I wanna change out the cam. How big can I go while still passing smog, I live in California.

Re: cam

You need to give us basic data about the car.... how do you expect us to pick a cam, without knowing if it's a Gen 1 SBC, and LTx or an LSx? What heads are you using? What do they flow? How important is driveability?

Re: cam

I'm using stock heads, I don't know the flow. It's a 1993 lt1 z28. I'm also on mobile so I don't know where to add the signature

Re: cam

OP

stock heads/383....few off the shelf cams can pass smog WITH the right tune. Lloyd Elliott may yield better results with his cams vs off the shelf. something in the 218/224 range and a good tune should pass.

I have a small Comp 466 cam in my 383 and it passes easily...but again the tune has a great deal to do with that.

Do you know of anywhere that'll tune it?
