93-97 LT1 T56, 6speed, Tremec #1386-000-016
My donor turned out to be crapped out. Need a known good one & nobody local can do it for less than $2500+. What's the best deal $$ for these nowdays? --> rebuild mine vs. the best remanned unit out there avail?

Tick Performance rebuilds them with tons of options
I would go that route - that's been my plan anyways - they were highly recommended when these cars were young - and pricing seems pretty darn good - just need to get the Tranny in/out locally - ship to them and re-install upon return....
Edit: Also a good idea to install a new clutch at the same time - Spec Clutches - the Stage 2+ is really perfect for most stock/Bolt-On cars - it handles plenty of abuse but fairly light pressure for daily/traffic driving
Don't forget to also replace the rear-main sail and tail shaft seals as well - cheap insurance to remain leak free!
