I've heard the LS2 or LS3 coils are the ones to use, any advice?
My setup (not powered by the LTCC) was installed in 2000, and the only thing available was the LS1 coils. They are more than adequate, firing a 300-shot of nitrous. Buddy of mine use the exact same setup on his Vortech blown 383ci 30th SS convertible, and was making 1,125HP at the flywheel, and turning high 7,000 RPM. Not sure what better endorsement you can get than that.

I also have a unique approach to mounting the coils. Would be a PITA to mount them on the valve covers, with a solid roller cam.

This location is not all that great with a S/C..... a broken belt will wipe out the plug wires.

Re: Bailey LTCC Imput

I used the same stock LS1 coils on my 383 YSi setup and am transferring them to the new TT408 build.

I originally had the coils mounted on MBA fuel rail covers but adjusting valves sucks with them in the way. They are (were) currently mounted on the frame rails with the wires running down each rail.

Then there's the issue of trying to figure out where to hang 10 LS1 coils on a Viper V10, stuffed into a classic Barracuda.....

Re: Bailey LTCC Imput

Thanks Injuneer and 97WS6Scharged you guys have answered all my questions, as I will also be adding a custom rear mount On3 78/76 turbo once I break the engine in and dyno it, so I wanted to make sure no spark blowout or high rpm miss. I know many people will say go EFI connections 24x which I have on my 94 Z28 but I don't want to repin the harness on my 97 SS (rare car) that's why I want the LTCC.

Re: Bailey LTCC Imput

The coils will provide enough spark energy but you'll still need to adjust plug gap accordingly. At 800 rwhp I was around .026-.028 plug gaps. From what I've read some of the LSx guys have gone down to .022-.024 at the 1k mark.

Fred, do you recall what gaps Baxter was running?

Don't know his gaps. With the 300-shot of nitrous I run 0.028"

Re: Bailey LTCC Imput

At the 750 - 800 rwhp mark on say 15# of intercooled boost and water meth what spark plugs would you guys recommend, and thanks again for all of your sage advice?
