Re: bad backfire hesitating just horrible

Does is have any codes for the O2 sensors?

Might want to add the year of the engine/PCM, since all LT1's are not the same.

Heat soak can affect the ICM, the optical cam position sensor in the Opti and the fuel pump. Faulty O2 sensor can cause problems when the PCM goes into closed loop, and uses feedback from the O2 sensors to control the A/F ratio.

Long term fuel corrections (which is what you want to look at) or short term fuel corrections? In which cell - there are 18 different cells, based on engine load and engine RPM, that the PCM uses to control the A/F ratio. If yours are long term, the engine is either in a true rich condition and the PCM is pulling 7% of the fuel out to correct the rich condition, or you have a "false" rich condition, and the PCM is pulling out fuel is shouldn't be pulling out.

But two data points without reference to a cell are not really useful. Time for Scan9495.

What brand Opti did he install? The cheap ones are trash, often defective right out of the box.

Re: bad backfire hesitating just horrible

Post the data log to an FTP site, or e-mail it to me so I can take a look at it.

Are you sure the floor mat wasn't stuck under the accel pedal? Take the air intake elbow off, and see if the throttle blades are actually opening all the way.

The floor mat is gone........I'm pretty sure I would have noticed that being in my way if I'm pressing the gas pedal, like I mentioned before that's the only sensor that isn't working properly n my friends response on his tps barely tapped......his went to 100%%%%%,mine was 45to50%%%%........everything else on the data log is working.so you told me to give u the results on the log I did,it was the Tps not giving response, then u wanna be a smart Alick saying the floor mat under the gas pedal wow!!!!!I'll change the sensor when i get off thanks

Snagging on the floor mat is a commonly overlooked problem. I'm afraid you just had your last help from Injuneer.
