Anyone using PROBE pistons?
#16
That is a good price for the budget forged piston. I thought you were looking at the sportsman race series (SRS) Probe piston which is more money.
If it's a goal to do this with the least money then this forged piston and moly ring kit is even cheaper than your Probe choice with rings.

Bore (in): 4.030 in.
Bore (mm): 102.362mm
Piston Material: Forged aluminum
Piston Style: Dish
Compression Distance (in): 1.560 in.
Valve Reliefs: D shaped cup
Piston Head Volume (cc): +21.10cc
above the piston head volume is a + i thought a blower dish piston had to have a - cc , i just maybe confused.
Im using the 58cc combustion chamber heads. where would these pistons put my CR.

Mailorder tuners will set then up rich on the fuel and concervative on the spark so I see no real risk there just potential left untapped. Particularly with a turbo I would look to tune at the track the dyno is not the same load.

Summit probably has that + in error.
Also, I don't want to advocate those Speed Pro pistons. I think they are teh most brittle forged pistons on earth. That's why they are so cheap.

untapped potentional is what i like.
messes with peoples heads at the track.
Later as money is more avliable i will try a stand alone.
unless any one has a better idea for <$500
this thread is going to get moved.

Re: Anyone using PROBE pistons?
i have probe 12cc dish top pistons and hellfire rings and have sprayed the hell out of it over 100 times with a 250 shot with no signs of failure, i have never heard of anyone with the proper tune cracking these pistons.

Re: Anyone using PROBE pistons?
There really isn't much point in replying to posts that are 7-8 years old. We're happy to see your comments but if the post isn't pretty new people have likely moved on...

Re: Anyone using PROBE pistons?
you are right the original user that posted this has probably vanished off the face of the earth, but when I'm researching car things there are many threads that i feel are incomplete, and i voiced my experience with what the thread was about not just about what i have read. When I'm researching things about engines i don't care if it's 7 or 20 years old i like to hear what people have to say about certain engine parts. I noticed that you are in Kissimmee not to far from me, would you like to race?
