Any new fixes for a broken ear? OUCH!

Re: Any new fixes for a broken ear? OUCH!
Usually, the only way that happens is by trying to remove it incorrectly. I assume you have an LT1 in some kind of car (you don't provide any vehicle info) and you actually mean you have a problem with the hub. The only "fix" is to replace it. Getting it off is going to be difficult now, since you cannot evenly distribute the force needed to pull on it. Welding the ear back on would be one solution.
The correct procedure for removal of the hub involves using a hardened rod or similar inserted (not threaded) into the crank hub bolt hole for your puller to push against.

Yeah, I'm aware of the correct procedure, now!
Unfortunately, I followed the directions on the puller from Auto Zone rental and it says
To remove the center bolt and use their "powerbolt" instead, which I did and just as you are aware, I broke an ear off.
I have a 93 Vette and was advised to come over to this site.
