Any new fixes for a broken ear? OUCH!

I broke an ear off my harmonic balancer trying to remove it.

I saw some remedies from 2003 and just wondered if there was anything new
That someone came up with

Usually, the only way that happens is by trying to remove it incorrectly. I assume you have an LT1 in some kind of car (you don't provide any vehicle info) and you actually mean you have a problem with the hub. The only "fix" is to replace it. Getting it off is going to be difficult now, since you cannot evenly distribute the force needed to pull on it. Welding the ear back on would be one solution.

The correct procedure for removal of the hub involves using a hardened rod or similar inserted (not threaded) into the crank hub bolt hole for your puller to push against.

Heating the hub, avoiding the crank snout, may make the removal easier, as the hub expands.

Yeah, I'm aware of the correct procedure, now!
Unfortunately, I followed the directions on the puller from Auto Zone rental and it says
To remove the center bolt and use their "powerbolt" instead, which I did and just as you are aware, I broke an ear off.

I have a 93 Vette and was advised to come over to this site.

IDK what a "powerbolt" is, but something obviously went wrong.

It's the threaded piece that takes the place of the center bolt.

I'd have to see the tool and instructions to understand how that was supposed to work. You shouldn't be pushing against anything that is threaded into the hole.
