97 rebuild will not start

Okay for starters I know there's probably someone who's posted a similar problem but I can't look for it right now. Just rebuilt the motor with an lt4 hotcam, pushrods, springs, 1.6RR. Motor spins smooth. But it's having a hard time cranking. It doesn't crank continuously. It acts like the battery is low volts or amps and I know it's not the battery because not only did I test it but I tried starting on a booster. Same issue. I'm thinking maybe connections are weak or my starter is weak. Any help would be nice. Please don't talk ****. Thank you

Re: 97 rebuild will not start

I would check the ground connection at the block first. If there is a build up of paint, this would create a point of high resistance. After cranking, touch each connection and feel for heat. If there is resistance, the connection will get very hot. If you have a multimeter, put on DC volts. While cranking, measure the voltage drop from the Battery (+) terminal to the starter (+) terminal. Also measure the drop from the Battery (-) terminal to the starter case. If either of these measurements see more that 1-2volts, you probably found your culprit.
