so.. i just replaced pretty much everyting on my 95 z28 that needed to be..
•radiator
•thermostat
•o2 sensors
•water pump
•opti
•spark plugs &wires
•fuel pump
ect ect...
on my way back home from a cruise around the bay area
i noticed the temperature started getting a lil hot.
it usually never goes pass the halfway mark or even to the halfway mark..
it went all the way to the top so ipulled it over and turned it off to pop the hood..
the coolant just started pouring out off the radiator and the overflow.. why or what could have caused this????
i did drive it for a long period of time but i did stop here and there so the car can cool down and rest.. i didnt want to deive it back home so ihad it towed..

any ideas before i take it to my mechanic..??

did you bleed the systems of air, air will make the car overheat when the air is trapped in the systems try this it should fix the problem on the top of the thermostat housing there is a purge screw just turn it until you see a steam of fluid coming out

Def need to bleed.

But I was having the worst over heating issues with my 95.

Judging by what you've replaced, there could only be a few things left.

My car was overheating and overflowing out of the reservoir after I would shut it off.

Pull your battery and check the medal line that runs into the reservoir.

Mine was corroded and after I replaced that entire unit most of my issues were resolved.

Make sure you did not swap the steam hose with the reservoir hose.

thank u all for the help.. so im pretty sure my mechanic bled the system a couple weeks ago but iwill check them when iget home from work.. now when i bleed the system ishould have the engine on and running correct??

Bleed your system with the car running. To put it simply open schrader valve to release air. Close once fluid comes out.
Make sure your thermostat isn't stuck shut, even though it is new.
Also, check all your hose routings like shoebox said.
Ensure your fans are kicking on.
Check hose warmth of upper and lower radiator hoses to see if there may be radiator blockage or vapor lock.

LT1 thermostats are different from the other 350 engines also cuz they're reverse cooled engines. Generally ya have to pay attention to that when purchasing one or ya may get the wrong thermostat. There's also 2 different ones to open @ different temps...180 degrees and 160 degrees. Not meaning to complicate things but...
