95 camaro z28 rebuild budget
Im looking at a 95 z28 has rod knock. I have a guy to do machining cheap. I was wondering on how much itd cost to do bare minimum rebuild. Mild cam possibly. I was wondering what the low end would be I know i could come into problems and cost way more. Thanks for any input.

I did a rebuild like you are talking about in 2009 on my 95. I found a local reputable shop to do a long block rebuild for $1200. They bored the block .030 over, decked it and the heads, 3 angle valve job, added new pistons ( had to, .030 over), and reused the rods and crank. I asked and was able to have my intake manifold cleaned as well. I supplied the LT4 Hot Cam kit, and they installed it at no extra cost. I did every bit of work I could myself and my total cost was between 2500-3k after other replacements and goodies. Ran great and I was happy with it, and daily drove it until the cooling system took a dump on my way to work in 2013. Went back to same shop same price.
