You might have better luck posting in the technical discussion area.

Back in the day, years ago when dinosaurs were around(me) it was the rack going south.I would take it to a brake place and have them put the car with you in it up on the lift and see if this can find the problem.hope this helps. You turning the wheel left and right with no load.

Is it in the front or back? Rear brakes can make noise too from the play in the axle.

Check for witness marks. Look for anything that looks like it was rubbing. The jack that corner up and see if the hub bearings ball joints, bushings and or tie rod ends are worn by wiggling the tire up-down and side to side. If you have play in either direction, it'll get you closer to finding it. Unfortunately, it's hard to diagnose a noise without being there. Let us know what you find.

Re: 94 z28 help when i turn right makes rubbing noise ???

Post #8. The axle can move enough to cause noise. My 97 did this after changing out the rear. I used a 3 channel rear, and the 4 channel backing plates and axles from the car though. I think I had to shim the caliper, it's been a long time. Try new brakes and see how it sounds. You need them anyhow so it can't hurt. Check how much axle end play you have too while you're in there.
