94 LT1 water pump
Help! I'm stuck trying to get 94 back together. The drive pin for the water pump stayed in the block when I removed water pump. The new water pump has one already installed firmly into the back..both are Firm.
Which would be best for me to remove before installing new water pump? ANd there isn't any o ring on that water pump dowel or drive whatever it's called, is there? Thanks have a great turkey day, big puddin'

Re: 94 LT1 water pump
there is a spline collar connecting the spline drive from motor and the spline drive on WP
sometimes it sticks to one of those splines. gently pry it off if stuck and clean it and the spline drive sticking out of motor and grease both splines.
FelPro makes a Timing Cover gasket/seal kit for around $12 sold at most auto part stores. It has O rings in it for the WP drive spline
Many change the WP drive seals (included in FelPro kit) when doing the WP. This seal can be tricky to install without folding over the inner lip if you don't have some form of "tool" to do it right. Several "how to" videos on this with purchased or home made tool.
