1995 Z28 overheating
When It first started, I noticed coolant leaking from waterpump. I replaced water pump, thermostat, coolant temp sensor and radiator cap, still overheated. Bleed cooling system of air, car ran fine for 2 days. Now when it overheats no heat in the car. Something is blocking coolnat flow. Will radiator flush be enough to unblock flow, or do I look for another problem maybe heatercore? I do have heat when it is running normal, just no heat whhen it overheats.

I believe so picked one up from Autozone part number 616375. prior to today tueday it would heat up then cool down, heat up then cool down. Yesterday it ran perfect from home to work and back 32 miles round trip. ran some errands last night it started heating up and cooling down.Got in it thios morning it did the same ran steady a few minutes then heated up cooled down. Which leads me to belive there is something restricting the coolant flow, almost like some kind of blockage. I'm hoping a radiator flushing can flush blockage out, otherwise have to put in shop. Radiator flushing flushes heater core out too, right?

On search, that part # defaults to 4218:

....which appears to be the same at the one shown here:

If that's what it looks like, its the correct one.
Flushing the radiator will probably not clear the heater core. You take the heater hoses off at the water pump and run a flush directly through the core. But you indicated you have heat when its "running normal" and not overheating, so the core doesn't sound like its plugged.
How about the cap - 18psi?

Re: 1995 Z28 overheating
i have a issue sorta like yours. except my heat blows... luke warm even if the car is cold or hot... its not much different than a/c tempatures lol. last year i flushed out my heater core a couple of times and black crusties were all in the coolant that i used to flush it out with.. the tech at work told me it was called back flushing the heater core... but it worked pretty good afterwards for a month or 2 then slowly starting getting bad again.. im thinking about completely replacing all the hoses since a few of em are in bad condition and replacing the heater core as well
ps. someone has also told me it could be a problem with the a/c or heater controls on the inside of the car.. said something about some doors inside might be getting stuck

Re: 1995 Z28 overheating
It was overheating under all driving conditions. I let the car sit all day Friday. Then I started it up and burped the system again (took off radiator cap, started car till it was up to operating temp, when thermostat opened and coolant level in radiator dropped added more coolant, then put radiator cap back on, and then turned car off, let it sit for an hour then repeated Did this 3 time, twice Friday and once yesterday), It looks like I did it right this time, Drove the car all day yesterday, did not overheat. Drove it a bit this morning did not overheat, no signs of coolant mixed in the oil or white residue on engine. Will drive it and see what happens.
