It can be a difficult job, especially on the passenger side. IMHO, best bet is a set of genuine ACDelco plug wires. Info on changing plug wires can be found with a search, but opinions vary on how to do it. It usually comes down to how a strategy works best for you. One strategy does not work for everyone.

Some of the plugs on the passenger side are reached from under the car. #2 at the front can be accessed best by removing the alternator.

The temp gauge half way up (is ~210F). The fans with a stock PCM tune are programmed to turn on the primary fan at 225F (driver side), and secondary fan at 235F (pass side), which the 3/4 mark on the gauge.

Sitting at idle for a period (especially on warm days), it's common for it to hit the half way mark. As long as the fans turn on, it should keep the temps in a safe range. You never want to let it exceed the 3/4 mark (~235F). When normal driving, it should stay cool enough that the fans shouldn't need to cycle.

How the fans operate depends on when in the 1994 model year your car was built. "Early" in the year they used the strategy described above - first fan on at 226°F, second fan on at 235°F. "Late" models turn both fans on low speed at 226°F, both fans on high speed at 235°F. If you have the A/C on (or defrost) the first fan, or both fans on low will turn on no matter what the coolant temp.

Look at the fan relays in the under hood fuse box - 2 relays for the "early" system, 3 relays for the "late" system.

As noted above, the mid-point of the gauge is 210°F, and that is normal for hot weather idling.

Hopefully, you bought the correct LT1 type t'stat. You can't use a standard small block Chevy t'stat, and that's what many auto parts stores will sell you.

Looks like the right one. The $14 almost guarantees it by itself. The normal SBC thermostat is only a few bucks.
