1993 Speedo Correction

I have a 1993 Trans Am with the 4L60 transmission. I currently have stock 3.23:1 rear gears want to install 3.73:1 rear gears. The only thing is that with the non-electronic transmission that came in the 93's I can't use a hypertech or anything to correct the speedo. Does anyone know how I can correct the speedo if I install the gears? I emailed PCMforless.com and they said they can't do it.

thanks

Re: 1993 Speedo Correction

Change the two gears in the trans. One is on the tailshaft and the other is with the VSS. It really isn't that hard to do at all.

Scroll down to speedo calibrations.... It not hard to change... Just just the calculation that is given...

Re: 1993 Speedo Correction

Do a search for "drive and driven gears." Those are the two that need to be swapped out for the speedo correction.

Re: 1993 Speedo Correction

Thanks a bunch. One more Question, how hard is it to perform that swap?

Re: 1993 Speedo Correction

Which gears come stock with it? Or can I just use the formula with any drive teeth gear I want and make sure I put in that gear woth the matching driven gear?
