hello guys, i have a 1993 camaro z28 with M6 transmission, i am planning on changing my clutch, but i dont know which clutch is the best clutch for street driving, my car has minor mods, and planning to add more in the future, but mainly for street driving. i am planning on changing my rear differential gear ratio with it too, so any ideas on what is the best clutch, gear ratio combination for street driving.

does anybody knows a good transmission shop in southeast Michigan that can change my clutch and rear differential gears.

I like the centerforce DF clutch...its worth every penny I spent on it

I am from SE MI also, most reputable shops will have no issues performing a clutch job and if they have experience with GM rear diff, they should have no issues setting up a new ring and pinion. There is nothing exceptionally special about it, just need to find the right mechanic.

A Spec 1 or 2 is a good choice for a minor bolt on street car. If you're street driving it on a regular basis I would recommend a non-puck style clutch.

I went with a McLeod RST twin-disc clutch. It cost under $800 from Amazon. It's good for up to 800hp (more than I'll ever have) and offers stock-like pedal feel. Any single-disc clutch that holds more power than the stocker is going to give you a stiffer pedal too.

I also upgraded to a lightweight flywheel. I went with a 15lb forged steel unit from ACT - it was under $300 (Amazon again). I strongly recommend going to a lighter weight flywheel. It significantly increases the fun-to-drive factor IMO.

I've had work done by White Racing and Marine out of Warren. They're a good shop and they don't overcharge.
