1.6 RR pre-load adjustment questions

So I'm putting my LE2 setup together finally and getting close to finishing up the long block and dropping it back in. I just have a few questions on lifter pre load/valve lash. I have the Lunati 72910 lifters and Comp Ultra pro mag 1602 1.6 rockers. I got #1 to TDC and tightened until the pushrod lost slack then went a lil past a 1/4 turn. After rotating to get #6 to TDC, I went back and looked at #1 and they seemed loose. The lifters have bled off since I put them in (soaked in oil before) and I can push down the lifter by hand and the rocker will come off the valve tip. Will priming the engine and getting the lifters full of oil alleviate this problem or did I do something wrong? This is my first time and I don't want o ruin anything on start up.

Re: 1.6 RR pre-load adjustment questions

after you lash the valve and rotate the engine to work on another valve, the valve you previously lashed will loosen as that lifter bleeds down...normal

Your method sounds right assuming by zero lash you no longer feel any up/down movement in the PR. You only need to use your fingers in first tightening the poly lock down on PR to find zero lash. 1/4 turn is OK. Some prefer 1/2 turn of pre-load
