when was the ls1 put in the silverado?
And if it isnt what engine is intended it? Years 97-2005 (I know there will be a few different ones I'm just curious)

97 was l31 vortec
98 began the ls style I believe

No LS1 was ever put in the Silverado from the factory.

The Gen III (LS) SBC was introduced to the Silverado in 1999. They still made a few "classic" Silverados in 1999, which would have the old Gen II motors.

I had a 97 with that wierd spider injection on the 350 and it was a mess. Stay away.
