Dynatech Headers?

Does anyone have these? $430.00 seems like a great deal for a coated header but, I never see anyone that has them. Is there a reason for this? (ie hard install, poor build etc.) I was just wondering because $1000-1200 is way out of my budget but I could probably afford these (someday ).

...not bad,

...I looked into before I got FLP's. The only problem is you'll need to custom fab a y-pipe and cats to the headers. Otherwise there a great product but alot of work. Best if you go to a true duel application.

Just my thoughts....

if they are the ones i am thinking of its just the header without the collector, you have to order the colector seperate.

So they would probably end up costing about the same as the Hooker headers? Are they about the same quality as the Hookers?

Edit:
Also, what can you expect a muffler shop to charge for a custom y-pipe (no cats )

they are about the same as hookers, except you have to get the collectors welded on. Only difference is you can get them in 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 tubing. i know the hookers use 18 guage steel, but i have no idea what the dynatecs use. Plus then you would have to get a 4 inch y and exhuast or it would be useless. Get ceramic coated hookers or mac midlengths. they are all in a good price range. 1200 for headers is way to much, i don't care what the build quality is. Hooker headers have always been awsome, never heard any complaints on any installation. Just make sure and buy them ceramic coated, they will last alot longer. And if you get macs, get the off road y, and install your own cats, theirs are about as good as the stock ones.

FLP's ARE Dynatechs with emissions....and vice versa...I have them on my Formula, they work awesome, high quality, and they have slighty better ground clearance than the hookers. Either way you cant go wrong...

...my .2 cents..

..if your gonna do something, do it right or do it twice. My opinion.

...Save your money and get something that will last and comes in a kit.

FLP's rock and always will, or Jet Hot has come out with a great header, look into it. Check out the for sale section.

The $430 is for the headers only. You will also have to purchase a collector from them. The cost will be equivalent to the Hookers. The Dynatechs are well made with .062 wall tubing (approx 16 ga). Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot. It sounds like the Jet - hot or the hookers are still the best bet.

If you go to www.tbyrnemotorsports.com right now they are having a group purchase on the SLP long tube package (includes coated headers, y-pipe, cats, install kit) for just over $1000 (normally $1200-1300). Great deal. I picked up .4's and 2mph with them.

i have always wondered this, but did you feel a low end power loss when you installed the headers. I have always heard that lt's put less low end torque and more high end hp than shorties.

It mainly depends on what brand of long tubes you choose. SLP's claimed that they are tuned LT's and getting max power of around 41hp 57ftlb with various other mods. To answer your question personally, I havent felt any loss im my low end if not a gain. My 1/8 runs went from 8.5's to 8.3's after install.
