on a Z28 it should be about 13.2-13.5 in the 1/4 mile depending how u drive and i believe 5.1 seconds 0-60. on the ss will be a little bit faster but not much at all. im not sure about the exact numbers though for the ss

The stock SS should actually be a tad slower, as it is usually loaded up with extra weight options.

Interesting.. Thank you.. I guess the SS has traction control and the Z28 does not? Would that be one of the options?

Almost every option that was available on the SS was available on the Z28 besides the "SS" package.

Traction control was an option available on all the cars. It's just a simple button/switch thingy.

Like Tom said, in theory, a Z28 with no options would be the faster of the cars because of less weight. But in reality, every engine/car will dyno slightly different numbers, that is just the way it is.

Even the base SS is more that just an appearance package. It also has different shocks, springs, front swaybar, tires, and wheels. It's more of a handling/appearance package.
And yes none of this makes it faster.
But let's not be misleading.

I hope you meant to type 3490 and not 4490. Otherwise, that is a porker. My A4 SS (with a 1/4) weighed in at 3460, fully optioned (T-Tops and all).

Hardtops will be the faster ones, regardless if it is a Z28 or SS. The stripper Z28 were among the lightest, but you could have ordered a stripper SS (some years) as well, which rivaled the performance of the (light) Z28s.

yeah.. my typo! heh oops!
I mean 3490... I figured it to have about 12.5 gallons of gas in the tank.. spare and whatnot still in car.. everything I would normally have.. (i still havent even seen my spare).. T-tops are on my car as well.. so I would assume that with only 3 gallons of gas at 8lbs a gallon.. should bring my car to 3420ish range.. so 3300's are possible if I were to strip it down some...

with me in the car add 200lbs.. If ever there was a reason to lose weight.. hehe
