oil pressure gauge tubing

oil pressure gauge tubing
I have a 98 camaro ls1 and i want to mount a auto meter oil pressure gauge in the port above the oil filter, does anyone have any pictures off the best way to route the line, and if the copper line will be okay, because it will be only a inch or two from the cat and exhaust, i don't know how it is with heat? thanks

Copper line? You're not using a mechanical gauge are you?
You should be using the electrical setup. Remove the plate, drill and tap for the sending unit, then connect the wire. Really simple. It should clear just about any header - it clears my Hookers.

I have a mechanical one, but i was worried about routing the copper tubing, so i ordered an electric gauge, does it matter how close the electrical sender is to the exhaust, will the heat effect it? thanks

Okay well mine will be within an inch of the cat, it has factory exhaust on it, have you had any leaks from the sender? Did you drill that port above the oil filter and run a tap in it? I read somewhere to drill a 5/16 hole and then use a 1/8 npt tap, I am not sure if that is right or not.
