O2 connector

I recently purchased a 2000 SS and it had a SES. Ran the codes and it cam up with skip shift soleniod, MAF, and all 4 O2s. Replaced the MAF with a known working one i had from my 94 LT1 (same part #) and still had the code for the MAF. Did some research and learned about the ENG SEN fuse and checked it, blown. Replaced fuse and it popped immediately so i figured i had a ground or melted wires issue. Check the O2 wiring and found it. Passenger side downstream sensor wires a melted mess. Apparently the previous owner had either damaged the O2 plug from the harness or purchased a sensor with the flat connectors and instead of taking it back and getting the correct one, cut the plug off the harrness and the sensor and wired them together with elctrical tape. The wires were only melted from the sensor to where the sensor plug had be cut off. The wires from the harness are fine.
So my question is this. Does someone sell a harness plug that i can wire back onto the harness? Or can i purchase a O2 extension wire and use the end from it? Then i can get a new sensor and "plug'' it in the correct way.

Re: O2 connector

the up and downstream sensors are the same, so connectors are the same as well. numerous companies make extensions for the upstreams (needed for lt headers). something like this
LS1 F-Body O2 Extension
or you can always go on ebay and probably find it cheaper.

Re: O2 connector

Ok thanks, i also might just have them tuned out. Going with headers soon anyways and my seepdo if off from the 4.10 install so i was already planning on sending it out to get that corrected.

Re: O2 connector

might as well get them tuned out, yeah. as long as you dont have emissions testing, it wont hurt anything
