Need some input
Hey guys,
Just wanted to get some opinions as to what I should do next on my LS1 A4 (I've got about 76k miles on it). I have a few things sitting in my garage that I still haven't put on (TCI 3600 stall torque converter, 3.73 gears). Any and all input is welcome.
1) I've been contemplating as to whether or not I should get a bigger MAF sensor and throttle body. I've read posts that say not to do it unless you do a tune as well since there's a possibility it might run too lean. But then I've read posts with people saying they've had no problems. Is it worth the 10+ HP to do it?
2) I was young and naive when I first got my Z. So I ended up getting a Hypertech Power Programmer for it. Is it really that bad? Should I just delete it and get a tune from one of the local shops by me? (Which I guess would mean that a new MAF sensor would be fine if I went that route)
3) If I wanted to get a new cam, any suggestions on which one to get? I don't need anything crazy, just something to give me a decent boost. I'm assuming I'd need to replace the valve springs, push rods, lifters, etc if I upgraded the cam right?
4) Any ballpark ideas as to a) how much HP I might be pushing now based on my current bolt-on's (see signature below), b) how much I'd gain with an upgraded cam, etc. I've never gotten the car dyno tested.
