Re: making changes

Depends on how you build it.

why not 413 ? cam an converter will determine streetability along with gears

While we appreciate the Christmas wishes, no need to start a new thread that appears to be asking if anyone has anything to add to your previous thread. I'll merge this thread with your previous thread, which did get a couple of responses.

Re: making changes

First, let's understand what you are trying to do. You indicate you want to remove your current 346ci LS1 engine, and replace it with a larger engine. Do you want to stroke your current engine to increase displacement, or do you want to consider another block in the LS-family of engines? There are cast iron truck engines that are routinely used, and the various LS2, LS3, LS6, etc. engines that can be used as a base for the build. There is even an LSx aftermarket block that allows huge displacment.

What is your goal - more HP? Just going with a larger displacement does not necessarily increase power a lot. How much the displacement increases HP and where peak torque occurs, will depend largely on the heads and cam selection. The cam selection and the quality of the "tune" will determine "how streetable" the engine will be. A larger displacement engine will generally be more streetable with a larger cam than the smaller displacement.

What are your goals? Without that info, it's really not possible to answer your question in any more detail than has already been offered above.

Ok my goals is to have a set up that will get a couple of people off my back especially a guy with a dodge charger that has a hell of a set up his self cammed up heads and pro charger sounds like a beast. I want to go with an iron block because ive read that you would have to sleeve an ls1 block to get where im trying be with displacement. Also ive read it wont stand the heat from the nitrous as well...im looking to make atleast 500hp..at the moment I have a 228/228 cam from tsp,5.3 stage 2 ported heads,102 fast intake,3500 stall tsp headers and true duels all sitting in my garage waiting to be installed in my ls1 but I don't think that's going to cut it and I know it wont get me anywhere close to 500 rwhp
