Re: ls6 intake ???

The LS6 throttle body is drive by wire. If you have a Camaro/Firebird, you cannot use it.

The LS6 injectors are the same as the 97-99 and 01-04 LS1 injectors.

It would help if we knew what car you had...

Re: ls6 intake ???

You'll see ~10hp improvement on a stock engine.

And no EGR- the '01-'02 cars used a different cam, actually the truck cam, with more overlap and no need for EGR.

Only worth it if you can get it cheap enough.

Pick it up. Also worth mentioning would be to get a good LID or Ramair as well as a nice free flowing exhaust.

Re: ls6 intake ???

The LS6 heads are where the real magic is- sodium filled valves, yellow springs, better breathing. Add the LS6 cam, and it was good for 405 HP stock from the factory.

I have 2 out of three, and am just a little jealous.

Re: ls6 intake ???

Short of tearing it down and checking part numbers, I don't know. Easy to find the specs on it- try a dyno, and see if it is putting out above-normal power?

By whom? And why would they tell you that?

Easiest way to find out if the cam is stock is to remove a valve cover and put a dial indicator on one of the rockers. Measure the valve movement. It won't tell you if you have an LS6 cam for sure, but it will tell you if removing the timing cover is worthwhile.

Re: ls6 intake ???

if you can get 243 heads for 300ish dollars, id jump on that for sure. Seeing how ls6 intakes usually go for 300shipped.

I don't have time to pull the info right now, but do a search. LS1 and LS6 injectors are not the same size for all of those years. The '99 LS1 had smaller injectors than the LS6 which got a little more RHWP out of the LS1. I've got an LS6 swap in my '98, and can confirm that the '98 LS1 injectors are the same size as the '02-'04 LS6, but I do know the '99's aren't.
