I've heard of people getting good deals at wrecking yards.

Yep any LS1 2001 or newer will have the LS6 intake. Your ideal situation is to find a junkyard that doesn't know they're in demand. I've been looking for one for the Vette, but all the private sellers want at least $300 for a used one. Forget that.

I am somewhat sceptical about buying stuff at a junkyard. So...

www.ftforce.com or www.ultimatefbody.com

Hope it helps.

LS6 Intake

You have to get an intake from an F-body, don't you? Doesn't the Corvette piece have a different EGR setup? If so, how difficult is it to modify?

Keep in mind if you need to stay emissions compliant. Any LS6 intake from a wrecking yard (01-02 fbody, vette, etc) will not have fittings for the EGR. And to modify the intake it yourself (answering the above post) is not advisable due to the risk of leaks, IMO (though I guess it could be done).

I went with an SLP unit that was prefitted for EGR myself.
