First Time Dyno!!!

LGMotorsports in Wylie had dyno day this past Saturday. (3/22)
For $50 you got three pulls and two printouts in a folder of your runs. The only mods I was running at the time were K&N FIPK, Loudmouth, and descreened MAF. My best run was 329.4 rwhp & 340.1 rwtq. Do these numbers sound about right?(2002 Z-28) I also bought the G2 y-pipe while I was there but did not have it on for the dyno. Did anyone else in the area go to the dyno on Saturday?
What kind of #'s did you get? Mods?
Thanx

Didnt notice an SOTP power from it. I wanted to dyno it with the tuning taken out but I didnt get to. Since my car is not an A4 the HPP3 is not very useful. About the only thing it let me do that is useful is get my cooling fans to kick on sooner and whatever its programming is on my air/fuel curve. But when I install my headers I will be installing a MAFT so I might be getting rid of the HPP3 then or at least take the programming out for the a/f curve. Eventually I will break down and buy LS1 Edit and sell both the HPP3 and the MAFT.

Question

A4 or M6? How many miles on your Z?

My '02 M6 Z28 dynoed at 323rwhp & 342rwtq SAE corrected with only a Direct-Flo lid and GMMG cat-back. The car had a little over 2,000 miles when dynoed. I'm getting it re-dynoed on Friday with a MAFT to lean out my A/F ratio some.

BTW, good #'s!

well, to me, seems your numbers are about what I would expect..
here is my reasoning..

K&N FIPK - about 7-9 rwhp
Loudmouth - about 7-10 rwhp
Descreened MAF - 0 or near to 0.. not enough to be shown on a dyno.

So if you have a base line similar to mine.. and pull 315 then add the 7 you will have 322.. then add the 7-8 for the loudmouth and you will have about 230... just about on target.. I still say that the K&N FIPK doesnt do 10 more rwhp than any other lid.. And your dyno run has helped me prove that theory..

Not to shabby.. so what do you run in the 1/4?

-It is an A4 with 9,500 miles.

-psychcabbage, Thanks for the good reply. Glad I could help you with the FIPK. I haven't ran at the track yet, but, my brother-in-law has an 01 C5 w/ Corsa, Granatelli MAF, and Blackwing. We have lined them up three times with the same result all three times I pull 1 1/2 car lengths on him to 105-110 before we shut them down. Needless to say he isn't happy. So I'm just guessing ~13.1-13.3 probably somewhere in there. I need to get to the track though...

-I put the G2 y-pipe on today and I absolutely love my loudmouth now. No more rasp, no more popping when idling down, and the sound at idle is much deeper and more refined. (just my opinion though) Don't know that it helped with hp but I definitely love the sound... SOTP feels a little better from 3000-5000 could be in my head though.

What gears?? 2.73's or 3.23's?? (definitely awesome #'s if 2.73's!! ) --- even still, 330 HP, 340 TQ at the wheels is good!

Oh, and I know what you mean about whether the gains are in your head or not! I had the same feeling when I changed just the lid................I think it felt a little stronger, but maybe it just sounded stronger??.............I'd like to hope that if a performance mod "feels" like it made a difference, then it DID make a difference!
