BE VERY CAREFUL...
Believe it or not, there is often more than one paint code for black. One time I had some minor body work done on my black '96. A few days after it was done I noticed that the black paint did not match up quite right. The new paint had like a very faint copper overlay when the sun would hit it just right. It was almost like the glare had a color to it when the sun hit it.
I called up the body shop and they thought I was nuts and sid there is no black blacker than black. I told them I will bring my car in and they will see for themselves. I took it there the next morning and sure enough, in the bright morning sun, you could tell there was actually a difference between the factory black the car was painted with and the new black that was painted when I had the body work done.
Turns out, there were two black paint codes in '96 and they used the wrong one. They had to redo the work they did as a result.
I dunno if this would be the case for a '98-'02 color code, but just make sure you get the right code if there is more than one!
