Camaro 1999 rear axle tech datas ???
Hy all
i am new here....so a short introduction :-)
I am from Germany and do have 51 pickup with camaro technic of 2th gen.
At the moment i am planning an LS1 swap and so i hope to get some help here :-)
I do have a offer for a complete camaro of 1999, it is a Z28 model.
Pls let me know which rear axle does the car has ??
From wiki i got the information that the 99 models have a torson differential..
Is it possible to swap the diff into a 10 bolt 8.5 rear axle ??
Thanks a lot
Achim

The 3rd and 4th Gen F-Bodies (Camaro/Firebird) use a 10-bolt rear axle with a 7.5"/7.625" ring gear. That will not interchange with the 10-bolt 8.5" components. "Torsen" is a specific type of limited slip system used on the late 4th Gens.
