Mild LS1 Camshaft kits

Okay so I am looking for a mild camshaft kit for my car. I don't want anything big. Just want something that I can add without to much head work done. The only engine mods else I want with the cam is ls6 intake. With the full exhaust then adding a mild cam, ls6 intake and professional tune hoping for 450 rwhp.

With just those mods, you're going to need a very aggressive cam to reach that power goal.

The best hp numbers I've seen from a streetable, cam-only LS1 are 414rwhp, using a Futral F14HL. To reach 450 while retaining streetability, you're going to need to do some head work, or better yet a stroker.

I made 390 with a ported stock heads and LPE 207-220 cam on the stock tune (02 M6 Firehawk). Car made 303 stock. 450 is going to take more than that.

The 403 in my sig made 450 through a very loose convertor. Stock L92 heads though!

Forget looking for a peak power number, sounds like you'll be much happier with a cam that gives you torque in the rpm range that you'll be driving it in vs. trying to hit 450 with a stock head LS1.

I do packages in the 220-228 duration range for daily driver applications because it's nice to have a car that you won't hate driving when you're just cruising around.

Smog testing?

Re: Mild LS1 Camshaft kits

ive seen 450hp dyno sheets on t rex cam only cars .... mine only made 371hp @ 5850 rpm and had 393.9 ftlbs torque at 4,300 rp ... but it was a quick tune for wot only. Drives very good on the street.it has a bad low end bog (tune) but hunts pavement in high gear ... you will deff need a good set of heads and great tune for a mild cam to make 450 rwhp .... everything seems easy until you start trying it out yourself. And most pros wont tell you their lil secrets

still has factory non roller rockers

Use a mild cam get mild results. I only made 415rwhp and I have p&p 799s with MTI X1 cam 230/227 - .591/.571- 112 elec water pump, long tubes, etc. etc. I know there is more in the tune and switching to duals but not much. And that number is with a cut out open.
