160*, 180*, or Stock Thermostat?
I don't know wether to go for a low temp thermostat or not.
From what I've read, LS1's really don't give that much extra at lower temps being that it's all aluminum.......am I right?
If I do go lower, I'm leaning towards the 180*, but considering the stock is 195* (I think) would it really be worth the extra $50?
And yes, I WOULD either use a fan switch or programmer to turn my fans on earlier.
What do you guys think?

Place a spacer in the housing between the piston and the wax motor (a plastic pellet).

GMHTP just did this mod.a 160 with the fans turned on earlier is good for about 3-5 hp.i still think tuning is a good idea though.

I did the SLP 160* thermo and fan switch.I also had the fans come on earlier by way of LS1 edit.Fan comes in real useful at the track in the staging lanes.I did not see any gains, but it is nice to know she is runnin cool.
