Will a cheap 1157 Socket and Bolb work in place of a 3157?

I have to change my 3157 socket... again for the THIRD time because the complex connectors on the inside keep moving and grounding out meaning everytime my drive lights are on, it lights up the right turn signal...

What I was wondering was this...

I got a 97 Camaro RS with automatic daytime driving lights so these bulbs are ALWAYS on... Will these sockets and bulbs function correctly (besides flash interval) in this car? they both have three wires so I assume they would.
When I turn my turnsignal on they'll flash right? When I start my engine my day time running lights will illiuminate like normal correct?...

In messing with sequential taillights and these sockets, I have found the cheap ones SUCK. I could never get a good connection... it was like they weren't even designed correctly.

I ended up just buying the actual GM sockets at like $10 or $15 each because I've gotten tired of fiddling with the cheaper ones. Some may have had better luck but you won't see me buying these at AutoZone or Discount because they both are terrible!

3157.... wow. I work in an auto parts distribution company warehouse. We sell those by the box of 10 for about $0.27 each. Im not sure if we actually carry the delco ones.

Its crazy, because I see thousands of car parts a day and often wonder what parts go on what cars, especially motorcraft.... those damn FA1632 filters drive me crazy.
