Where to start?
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and to the Z28's I been around my buddy who had one for a long time and finally decided to get one of my own. Its a 2002 Z28 with T-tops and a 6-speed manual that had an aftermarket exhaust on when I bought it. I was just kinda wondering where a good place to start was as far as upgrades go. I was thinkin about lowering it like an inch because I hate the way the wheel gap looks in the rear and was hoping for a little better handling. Any other ideas?

Lowering it is a good place to start since you mentioned it for the looks. Also look into the Skip Shift Eliminator for your six speed. Short Throw Shifter if you don't have one already. Sub Frame Connectors are a really good idea as well to keep the body from twisting up on you with those T-Tops. Then it is on to the standard list.
Catback
Headers
Cold Air Intake
Camshaft
Tune
and then maybe some more suspension upgrades.
Of course, any of these can be done in any order you want but I would wait for the tune until you get at least the headers in and maybe wait till you have the headers and cam done.

Thanks
Alright thanks. I was lookin at prices for the lowering kit and short shifter. Not bad, thinkin I could probably pull that off soon as well as a few other things. What brand of lowering would you suggest? Also, what kinda cam? Thanks

I recommend Eibach Pro Kit. It's about 1.25" lower then stock and will look even better then a 1". The ride is a little more firm but not harsh. I recommend replacing your shocks at the same time as the factory decarbon shocks arn't built to handle a higher spring rate. Plus you dont want to do the front shocks again, they can be kind of a pain if things are rusty. The rear springs are a breeze and only took my about 30mins. Tokico HPs, KYB AGX adjustable shocks, Bilstein HD revalves, and Koni's is about the order of price + better performance. You'll also need an alignment on the front end once you are done. The second biggest performance thing you can to for handling is get subframe connectors welded in.

Yeah, my Eibachs and Bilstiens are arriving this weekend. As for a Cam, the LT4 Hot Cam kit is pretty popular since it is just a bit more aggressive than stock, but still works with the stock tune so you arent forced to run out and get a tune right away. Other than that, just look at Comp Cams or one of the other ones on here. They have some pretty good description of what each cam is like and what supporting mods you need.
