What is that? Pls help me recognize the part!
Hi there! Recently I bought '95 3.4 Camaro (it doesn't run), and I can't say that previous owner took care about the car)
Long story short, and I found in the trunk that unknown part:
It lies together with air filter box. I bought new air filter, and I dunno, what is it and where it was located. Don't want to chat with previous owner...

I say it looks like one of them there tornado things that are suppose to give you 50 more horse power or something. They put one on a volkswagon golf and dyno'd it and it actually lost 5 hp.I could be wrong though.I've been wrong 2 or 3 times this year already.Hope this helps.

What is "tornado thing"? Be more specific please )
I started to think that this thing may be some part of passive supercharger (or how to this called) Something like that:
I checked under the hood yesterday, and found that there is a space between hose and air filter box, and may be this THING was somewhere there. But still I see no additional hose or clips or smthng else, so I started to think that this thing would be thrown away)) Or may be save it until service appears.

It's a device that is supposed to improve performance of the engine by increasing air flow. In theory, it swirls the air and improves flow. In fact, it's total myth.
The people who sell these will fill a soda bottle with water, turn it upside down, and show you that the water won't flow out of the bottle quickly until it establishes a vortex (swirl). Of course that has nothing to do with air flowing into an engine, but it's enough to convince gullible people that is actually does something.
Ignore it.
