Weird Shifting Thing

My 2002 has 56,000 miles and manual transmission. For the past two weeks, it's been doing a weird thing where I put it into gear, then I feel it slip a little, and then grab, result in a jerking forward. It seems to not do it for the first 10 minutes that I drive and then it starts doing it. I think it happens more in 1st gear, but I've felt it in 2nd and 3rd as well.

Is that a dying clutch?

I'm going to move this to "General 67-02 F-Body Tech". This forum is for the 93-97 LT1 V8 engine. Clutch is significantly different.

Re: Weird Shifting Thing

Factory clutches usually last significantly longer than that. I replaced mind at 110k and it had a bit of life left. The V6 model has an entirely different clutch than the one in my V8, and of course it depends on driving style.

Your syptoms sound a little like dying clutch to me. It could also be a sticking throw out bearing that is preventing the clutch from re-engaging smoothly.
