Water level in rad

did a radiator flush and now i cant get the idiot light for low water level to shut off . Tried bleeding it ,running with cap off adding just a bit at a time till full but still the light remains lit. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Water level in rad

Take out the water level sensor and try to clean it. if that doesn't work you will have to replace the sensor. you can also disconnect the sensor to turn the light off. but that's (NOT) a good way to fix it !!!

the light should go off after a couple of cycles of the car being on and off. That should be the case if it was fine before the flush.

Re: Water level in rad

The water level sensor is prone to failure causing a false low level light. If you open the radiator cap and the fluid is up to the neck then your sensor is the issue. As stated above you can try cleaning the sensor. Also check that the wires leading to the sensor haven't been damaged.
