High beam actuator rod

High beam actuator rod
I'm going through a checklist of minor repairs and next on my list are my high beams. The stalk will pull towards me but not click. Pulling off the kick panel, I see that the rod is not pushing the switch far enough to make it click. If I gently pull the stalk forward as far as it will go, I can still easily push the white plastic piece which attached to the rod a few millimeters further to get the switch to click.
So what are my options to getting the rod to extend a bit further? Is it easy to slide the white piece of plastic down the rod a bit? It doesn't appear I have any more space to pull the stalk towards me before hitting the cover.
Thanks!

I just got done adjusting mine today, my actuator rod was not pushing hard enough to activate/deactivate my hi/low beams either. I did not pull my column all the way out, it was a little harder to do it this way but i figured if i get it done then whats the difference? Anyways all i did was loosen the two little bolts that hold the hi/low beam switch to the column and move it forward just a bit. be sure you test them before putting the column back in place. Here is my original thread...Shoebox put some very usefull info there!. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=624712
