Want a throaty exhaust

I'm new to threads and camaros so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section. I just bought a 1985 z28. It has a stock lg4 engine and the stock exhaust. What can I do to the car for $500 or under to give it a deep throaty sound when I start it up and drive?

Re: Want a throaty exhaust

I bought a cat-back OBX system off of ebay. This is on a 96 SS with a real LT4 motor. It is definetly throaty. And it doesn't have that crackly, popping, hollow type of exhaust note. I have heard some well known brands that just sound cheap. I think the OBX sounds better than many of them. But for my taste, it is a little too loud. However, it might be just what you want.

I buy nothing but flowmaster. The flowmaster american thunder cat back system is what I have on my 91 z-28. Other than a K&n air filter, it's all stock.
