Question V8 and V6 Shocks?

Are they the same? I’m in need of new ones and I noticed I could get a set of V8 take offs from SLP for $50. Sounds like a damn good deal. But will they work on my V6? I assume they should bolt right in and be the same. Can someone confirm this?

Well correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the shocks the same except for 1LE and SS models? I believe the springs are different but not the shocks. If you wanna upgrade why spend the $50 for the takeoffs, but instead upgrade to edelbrock IAS shocks or Bilistein?

I'm not too worried about upgrading. I just don’t want to spend a lot of cash right now. In the last week I have dropped $475 on leather seats, $850 on wheels and tires and $270 on some other parts.

I believe the V8 springs are stiffer, and will also make a V6 car ride higher, because they're meant to spring a car that weighs a bit more.

That's a good point too, I didn't even think of that.

He's asking about the shocks, not springs.

I've never even heard of that. There's got to be a place online where you can look up those codes. It's probably nothing though. I bet that it is found on all z28's.

Well Stars, since the rear axle and all is the same throughout, I'm wiling to bet you can put them in no problem at all.

I still believe they are the same though.

Yes, they will work. The chassis is basically the same. Same mounting points and all that crap.
