The dash lifts up - held on by Velcro!
The light sensor, on the dash, clear plastic thing, by slots in dash.
Un plug it, put a resister there-black tape to hold in place, (sorry i forget the ohm rating - bought at Radio Shack for 2 bucks ).
Put sensor back for looks

I know the e-brake trick doesn't work and the service department at the local Chevy house said it wasn't possible to turn them off...but that's stupid. We have a drive in movie theater here in Abilene. But, it's August in Texas, so it's hot...can't let the engine idle for the A/C when your lights shine up on the screen!

in my '02 z28 if you start the car with the e-brake on the daytime running lights and the automatic head lights stay off, once you disengage the e-brake the auto head lights come on and re-engaging the e-brake won't shut them off.
perhaps that what you have to do for your drive in movie watching until you actually disable the sensor/system

Yeah, what he said, you have to start the car with the e-brake on. Once you relese it, they wont go off again till you shut the car off.
