Things to check before purchase? 2000 Convertible

I'm going to look at/test drive a 2000 SS convertible. Auto with 70k miles. Is there anything that I need to check out closely. Last Camaro I had was 72 RS and that was a long time ago.

Do a search on piston slap issues. It'll help in knowing what to listen for...to be honest, I'm not even sure if the 00's were one of the years with the isssue...

Take it for a test drive with the top up, windows closed and radio off. Listen for wind noise around the windows.

Check the carpeting for any signs of moisture which could indicate leaking window seals.

use your nose... does it smell musty?

Look under the car for signs of abuse. Is the bottom of the nose banged up? Is the air dam intact? Are there any signs of damage to the underbody from being jacked up in the wrong place?

Check the seats - specifically the drivers side bolster for wear from ingress and egress.

Look at the condition of the convertible top. Any rips or tears? Operate the top up and down - does it get hung up on anything?

Inspect the top of the dash - it is cracked or broken anywhere?

Listen to the radio and check for blown speakers.

Check all the fluids - smell them to see if they have a burnt odor. Is the brake fluid fresh? If it is black, it's old.

How old is the battery?

Are the tires in good shape? Are any of the rims damaged from hitting curbs?

Cold start the engine and listen to it as it warms up. Some valve train noise while cold is normal.

Drive it at least 20 minutes so it gets up to full operating temperature. Monitor the oil pressure as it warms up. Make sure it does not drop too far when fully warm.

What kind of oil has been run in it?

Move the windows up and down. Are the window motors any good? If they go really slow that indicates a weak motor.
