95 z28 anti theft

95 z28 anti theft

i replaced engine with another lt1 from 95 z28 and i have that cars steering column and key and computer so am i gonna have a problem with that anti theft device cause im hearing that i will not get car to run cause of that

You don't need the steering column from the other car. Your original key will work fine. The PCM does not care about any key differences-only the VATS module does and you did not change that.

You have to keep your original key (unless by chance it matches the resistance of the new key), which involves changing out the lock cylinder in the column for your original cylinder, allowing you to use the original key. Or you could bypass the security system with a resistor equal in value to your original key.

Just curious... why are you changing out the entire steering column?

its not real hard to bypass it should you need to.
