I have an SS hood from my old Camaro, and I am going to put it on the one I am about to buy. I was going to see is anybody had bought an SS hood and had it painted, and could maybe tell me what they payed for the paintjob. I just wanna see what kind of money I am looking at spending before I start getting quotes. Oh yeah, it's an LT1 SS hood.

It depends. A good quality shop around here is about $300 for a hood, and $400-$500 total if they also blend it into the front fenders/nose piece.

What do you mean by "blend it". That doesn't seem to bad, that is right around what I was figuring.

Lot's of times it's not possible to perfectly match the paint, so if you only paint the hood, you will tell that it's not exactly the same color as the rest of the car. This happened to me. They then put light coats on the other panels surrounding the hood, with new clear coat and base color to make it match the hood and still blend with the rest of the car. You might get lucky and the hood will match great, but white, like my car, is very hard to match. It looks great now.
