97; ANN. Z

i recently rebuilt my motor in my 97' lt1, while the motor was out i put in a fuel pump. well my motor is back and i wanted to see if it was working. so i hooked the batt. up and theres no fuel. is there a ground or hot wire anywhere in the engine compartment, that would keep it from coming on? the motor is still not in, and i did drop the tank during the install w/ the new pump in it! can some one please help.
