simple question...rotation and # of firing cylinders

my brain is on vacation

on a v8 engine, for every rotation of the crank, how many cylinders fire??

4 correct? since 4 are on the exhaust stroke and 4 on the compression stroke?

correct, it takes 2 full revolutions for all cylinders to fire, on a 4 cylinder 2 fire for every 1 rev, on a 6, 3, on a 10, 5, ect.

one cyl fires every 90 degrees of crank rotation on an 8 cyl 4 stroke engine..
And no 4 aren't on compression and 4 on power.. you forgot the other 2 'strokes'.. intake and exhaust..
all 8 would be in various stages of 'intake, compression, power, exhaust..'
they fire just before TDC on power stroke..

yeah, not quite the way he said it, but 4 cylinders fire for every 1 rev of the crank, fire, 90*fire, 90*fire, 90*fire

90* +90* +90* +90* = 360*
