Should I keep my Z28 a4 or get a M6 + G-tech times

whats up everybody? This is my first thread on this site but I have been reading posts on the for last six months and i have learned a lot.

Well i've had my car for 1 year. The day i test drove this car, I was hooked bought it the same day, but now i want a LT1 M6-
or should i stick with mine. It runs really strong but some time when I hit WOT it bogs and doesnt feel good. So I have decided to get a M6. Please let me know if it really worth it because the Z that i have right now is in verynice condition(bought it off of an old man). Please let me know how much is it worth?

96' z28, white, T-tops, Tinted black, tires are in great shape, Stock-77,000 Miles- Mods that i have are( Stainless Steal Magnaflow Catback, TB-bypass, Home Made CAI Intake K&N filter) + $800 worth of audio setup and Water Pump was replaced recently. Thanks in advance.

Oh and once i borrowed my friends G-tech pro and tested my car before (CAI and TB-bypass) mods, hit a 13.7 twice on the highway total wight 3640lb with me in it. Then I was hitting 13.8 and 13.9 with me and my friend in the car total of 3800lb. Let me know what you guys think about that and never been to track.

Go to the track.
No comment on your times.

Just keep your car if you have the money for hte 6 speed, or if its cheaper for you to make it a 6speed then it is to buy one.

cause you already know your car, no sence taking on more problems if you dont have to.

You could keep your car and just do a tranny swap, not exactly sure what all needs to be changed or how hard it would be, but you already have a feel for your car, and you know it's been taken care of.

Somebody on here will be able to tell you what you need and whether or not it's worth doing.

6-speeds are extremely fun though.

BTW, welcome to the board.

tranny change would take a day if you know your way around engine/tranny. 2days if your learning. 3 at most. certainly less time than it would take to find a good used car.

If your car is your baby -you love everything about but the tranny- id consider a tranny swap.

If your looking for something a bit different (color, etc) and in better condition...buy a new car.

first of all thanks everyone for replying to this post.

since i have never been in a car with a stall, how much of a difference would it make on my car? would it change my mind about M6?

I LOVE my 6 speed...its great...good mileage...more control I shift my own gears, no sloppy auto crap slushbox POS shifts...even my car with the built auto couldn't compete...I love rowing through the gears myself...does that mean you should get rid of your car? no...if you're on the market for a new car I'd encourage you to get/look for an LT1/LS1 with a 6 speed...otherwise you could do a swap pretty cheaply I'd think...

My first 4th gen was a 93 Z28 auto. loved it but got totalled in an accident. Now I have a 95 6-speed Z28, night and difference IMO especially with a few mods and B&M shifter. I told myself no more autos for me until this weekend I found a 95 T/A in the paper for $3,000 with auto trans. Its a one owner car with 107,000 miles clean in and out, couldnt pass up the deal so now I have an Auto and M6 the guy I bought it from said he received like 50 calls that day, thank god I was the second person to his house and was able to purchase it, the guy in front of me only offered him $2,500, what an insult to the owner of the car I almost bought it without driving it.

Decision made

Thanks everyone for their posts. Since i allreay know my car i am going to keep my car and mod it.

what do you guys think i will be running with the mods i have right now and future. I was thinking that is it possible to break in to 12s without nitros and interal mods(cam...etc). Thinking maybe like Suspension.
current mods

96' LT1 2.73gears, magnaflow catback, homemade CAI, tb-bypass, ported and dscreened. If i add headers and Y-pipe you guys think i will be able to hang with LS1s. any suggestions would by helpfull and appriciated. If some one can List some mods including suspension mods that would put me in to 12s with just boltons and susspension work. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Take your weak 2.73's out and put in some 3.73's, LT's and y-pipe, that way you will have your exhaust and intake done.
