Should I cut out my cat conv?

Should I cut out my cat conv?
I have a 94 T/A with Mac midlength headers, ORY, and Magnaflow exhaust. Do you guys think I should cut out my cat? What will I gain or lose from doing this, performance and sound wise? Just wondering because I heard that the car will backfire alot if I do cut it out. Also what is the cat replaced with? Do they just weld in a piece of piping or what?

"midlength headers, ORY"
that means you already don't have the cats...
the car will be louder, possibly pop a little more when you let off the gas at higher rpms...
but i think it's worth it

Cats get hot...hot enough to start fires in grass (or anything else) tall enough to touch the bottom of the car. Fires cause LOT of air pollution...cut the cats off to save the environment!!!

Re: Should I cut out my cat conv?
There are several things that stop me from removing mine.
1) car is harder to sell if it is not compliant.
2) car has a lower value if it is hard to sell.
3) removing a functional cat does not help performance much.
4) A holow cat make a strange sound that I dislike.
